"President Bush has said that he does not need approval from the UN to wage war, and I'm thinking, well, hell, he didn't need the approval of the American voters to become president, either." -- David Letterman
"In a speech earlier today President Bush said if Iraq gets rid of Saddam Hussein, he will help the Iraqi people with food, medicine, supplies, housing, education - anything that's needed.Ê Isn't that amazing?Ê He finally comes up with a domestic agenda - and it's for Iraq.Ê Maybe we could bring that here if it works out." -- Jay Leno
"President Bush announced tonight that he believes in democracy and that democracy can exist in Iraq.Ê They can have a strong economy, they can have a good health care plan, and they can have a free and fair voting.Ê Iraq?Ê We can't even get this in Florida." -- Jay Leno
"Democrats were quick to point out that President Bush's budget creates a 1 trillion dollar deficit.Ê The White House quickly responded with 'Hey, look over there, it's Saddam Hussein!'" -- Craig Kilborn
"We have it.Ê The smoking gun.Ê The evidence.Ê The potential weapon of mass destruction we have been looking for as our pretext of invading Iraq. There's just one problem - it's in North Korea." -- Jon Stewart
"War continues in Iraq.Ê They're calling it Operation Iraqi Freedom.Ê They were going to call it Operation Iraqi Liberation until they realized that spells 'OIL.'" -- Jay Leno
"CNN said that after the war, there is a plan to divide Iraq into three parts ... regular, premium and unleaded." -- Jay Leno
"Iraq began destroying those missiles they don't have over the weekend.Ê See, President Bush may be the smartest military president in history.Ê First, he gets Iraq to destroy all of their own weapons.Ê Then he declares war." -- Jay Leno
"Many of our soldiers are stationed at Camp Coyote just south of the Iraqi border.Ê This is how you know we have a strong army, when you can actually tell your enemy exactly where your camp is and what its name is." -- Jon Stewart
"The Pentagon still has not given a name to the Iraqi war. Somehow "Operation Re-elect Bush' doesn't seem to be popular." -- Jay Leno
"The president boasted at the top of his press conference that we have the support now of Britain and Spain for our attack on Iraq.Ê You know, when you want to make it perfectly clear to the world that you're not an imperialist, the people you want in your corner are Britain and Spain." -- Bill Maher

| | lotr | ] | on friday monica called and said maria had something to ask me so then i hear this little tiny voice on he other end "hi cara? i wanted to know if you wanted to come to my fairy tea party on monday!" so this morning i was greeted by 3 bouncing fairies screaming and running towards me. they almost killed me when they, all three of them, (one of whom i didn't even know) bashed right into my legs and wrapped their arms around my thighs because that was all they could reach. i played outside, pushing them on the swings, watching maria on the monkey bars, making sure paul didn't kill himself for about an hour when Amy and ryan came over and we started with tea and odd shaped sandwiches. i talked to the grownups for a while and they told me how much Julia and Maria liked me which made me happy.
so go me. i'm 16, have a ton of friends and a bf and i choose to spend my morning chilling with three 6 year olds and two 3 year olds. fruhaha.
hurrah hurrah! i got the wizard of oz on dvd and a pot of tulips (among other things) for easter!
matthew got lotr which was slightly unfair since that was supposed to me a b-day present and all. oh well. i'll steel it anyway mwahaha. |

| | "Complicate"-GC | ] | So this John critter- called me tuesday night and asked me out to dinner and a movie for saturday night =)
Thursday after school Dad and I went to see my 3rd cousin Sarah dance "dawn" in Coppelia at the State Theatre. SO good. we got back at 1:30 and there was a note on my door from mum saying not to worry about hw coz I wasn't going to school friday *shrug* so i scampered off to bed.
Saturday- he picked me up at 6 and we went to ruby tuesday for dinner and then to see The Life of David Gale which was excellent. it was about 10:30 by that point so he asked if i had to go home or if i wanted to do something else-so obviously i didn't go home. We drove around for a while, thinking of something to do-so in the mean time we went to the wading river (hence the name) and then to the elementary school which used to be a mansion n dthen we went to sports plus to see if the ice rink was open but there was a hockey game going on so we went bowling instead. that is, until he got in trouble for throwing 2 balls at once haha. he won every game but you know, bowling's not my strongest skill. and now my arms are killing me. but then he took me home, walked me to my door and kissed me goodnight =)
yesterday i went with Kate to see "How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days" which sucked of course but it was great. when i got Home John called saying that he had a great time that night and asking what I wanted for my bday. i told him i'd have to get back to him on that one but i duno what i want, i hardly even know him he shouldn't buy me a birthday present.
people-comment and tell me what i want for my bday
The other John-trying to figure out the maggie stuff. *sighs of relief* we'll see how thursday goes. i havn't been to pas since the big night. rah.

| | gloomy | ] | Christmas i spent mostly with my sister and my cousin Sophia. spent a couple days doing nothing, playing the sims watching movies on our new tv and dvd player. i love my ipod. i took fabrice's class at steps on sunday, monday at ABT. new years was insane. "HAHAHAHAHAHAH--bitcchh." "oh lordy" I read Northanger Abbey and Bridget Jone's diary over vacation. the book is MUCH better than the movie, except that the movie has colin firth in it. Bridget inspired me to start a diary. i will still post on lj when i have time to be online. on thursday i took class at ABT again and i took class with Nina! ugh she was so good. i partnered with chris, who made a briliant combination. friday we did our little Glass/Connolly present get together. Thanks so much for the picture Alice, i really love it.
sunday was the boston audition. i wasn't hungry when i got to penn so i just got a luna bar. forgot water. turned out i was in the 2nd class of the 2nd group so i was shaking from that low blood sugar thing and nerves. needless to say i couldn't balance and started seeing spots from dehydration. did not do well. have no doubt they will not take me back. i couldn't sleep so i watched Bridget Jones until 4:30 a.m. yadda yadda yadda great class with amy tuesday, and here i am. i've gotten about 11-12 hours of sleep so far this week. it's actually straining to keep my eyes open. oh well. |

| Neil Gaiman |
[Dec. 18th, 2002|10:36 pm] |
Nicholas Was... older than sin, and his beard could grow no whiter. He wanted to die. The dwarfish natives of the Arctic caverns did not speak his language, but conversed in their own, twittering tongue, conducted incomprehensible rituals, when they were not actually working in the factories. Once every year they forced him, sobbing and protesting, into Endless Night. During the journey he would stand near every child in the world, leave one of the dwarves' invisible gifts by its bedside. The children slept, frozen into time. He envied Prometheus and Loki, Sisyphus and Judas. His punishment was harsher. Ho. Ho. Ho.
entry on my week will be up...i duno when, be patient. |
